One More Day With You

Another song...

...not a new song, have heard it many times.

Not a "sign"...just happened to be the first song to play on the radio as I took my daily tour of Cairo on this beautiful Spring day. (BTW...butterflies made their appearance this week. They didn't do any tricks, but, then they ARE still in "Spring Training".)

The "crazy dream" opening to the song doesn't really work for me. I have previously lamented that I rarely dream. Guess I don't sleep long enough in one stretch to reach the REM Stage where the lucid dreams occur. And, on those rare occasions that I do dream, it's not about my dearly departed.

In fact, my last dream had me substitute teaching at Bennett Elementary where some little kid drove me up a tree. The "closing scene" had me in the faculty lounge with a teacher chorus singing "Run, Little Ronnie."

However, the main theme of the song definitely applies!

If I were to dream, this would definitely be my wish, along with the unfulfilling outcome...

Song: One More Day
Album: One More Day
Artist: Diamond Rio
Songwriters: Steven Dale Jones & Bobby Tomberlin

Last night I had a crazy dream
A wish was granted just for me
It could be for anything
I didn't ask for money
Or a mansion in Malibu
I simply wished, for one more day with you

One more day
One more time
One more sunset, maybe I'd be satisfied
But then again
I know what it would do
Leave me wishing still, for one more day with you

First thing I'd do, is pray for time to crawl
Then I'd unplug the telephone
And keep the TV off
I'd hold you every second
Say a million I love you's
That's what I'd do, with one more day with you

One more day
One more time
One more sunset, maybe I'd be satisfied
But then again
I know what it would do
Leave me wishing still, for one more day with you

Leave me wishing still, for one more day
Leave me wishing still, for one more day
